A simple recipe for soft, buttery cream cheese cookies that are pressed into shapes and topped with a sweet, creamy frosting.

For the Cookies:
½ lb butter, softened
4 oz cream cheese, softened
½ cup granulated sugar
2 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon vanilla
Food coloring (optional)
For the Frosting:
3 tablespoons butter, softened
1 ½ cups powdered sugar
1 to 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions
- Step 1: In a large mixing bowl, use a mixer to whip the softened butter and cream cheese until smooth and fluffy.
- Step 2: Add the granulated sugar and vanilla, and mix again until creamy.
- Step 3: Slowly add the flour and mix on a low speed until the dough forms. Add food coloring now if you want colored dough.
- Step 4: Chill the dough in the refrigerator for ten minutes.
- Step 5: Preheat the oven to 400°F.
- Step 6: Fill a cookie press with the chilled dough and press cookies onto a cool, ungreased baking sheet.
- Step 7: Bake for 4 to 6 minutes or until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly golden.
- Step 8: Transfer the cookies to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Step 9: To make the frosting, mix 3 tablespoons of softened butter, the powdered sugar, milk, and food coloring in a bowl until smooth.
- Step 10: Frost the cooled cookies and add sprinkles if desired.
Notes
Ensure the baking sheet is completely cool before pressing the dough onto it, as this helps the dough release properly.
The amount of milk in the frosting can be adjusted to reach your desired consistency.
