Description
A simple, no-bake recipe for old-fashioned peanut butter candy, rolled into logs and sliced into sweet, chewy rounds.
Ingredients
Scale
1 cup powdered sugar, plus more for coating
1 3/4 cups powdered milk
1 cup honey
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1/4 teaspoon salt, optional
Instructions
- Step 1: In a medium bowl, whisk together 1 cup of powdered sugar, the powdered milk, and salt. Set this dry mixture aside.
- Step 2: In a large bowl or the bowl of a stand mixer, combine the honey, vanilla extract, and creamy peanut butter. Cream them together for 3-4 minutes until the mixture is fluffy and smooth.
- Step 3: Gradually add the dry ingredients to the peanut butter mixture, beating until a dough comes together.
- Step 4: Knead the dough with your hands for a minute until it is completely smooth.
- Step 5: Divide the dough in half and roll each portion into a long, even log.
- Step 6: Wrap each log tightly in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours, or until chilled and firm.
- Step 7: Once chilled, unwrap the logs and use a sharp knife to slice them into 1/4-inch thick rounds.
- Step 8: Gently coat each candy slice in additional powdered sugar before serving.
Notes
Ensure the logs are well-chilled to make slicing clean and easy.
Store the finished candy in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
