A classic summer dessert featuring sweet, juicy peaches baked under a crumbly, buttery streusel topping.

For the Filling:
8 fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
1 cup organic sugar
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1/4 cup butter, sliced
For the Topping:
2 cups unsifted all purpose flour
1 cup lightly packed brown sugar
1 cup butter (2 sticks)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat oven to 400°F.
- Step 2: To prepare the topping, whisk together the flour and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl. Add 1 cup of butter and mix on low speed until the mixture is crumbly. Set aside.
- Step 3: In a separate medium bowl, whisk together the organic sugar, salt, nutmeg, and cinnamon for the filling.
- Step 4: In another large bowl, combine the peeled and sliced peaches with the sugar and spice mixture, stirring until the peaches are well coated.
- Step 5: Pour the peach mixture into a 9×13 inch or 3-quart baking dish.
- Step 6: Place the remaining 1/4 cup of sliced butter randomly on top of the fruit mixture.
- Step 7: Spread the crumbly topping mixture evenly over the fruit.
- Step 8: Bake uncovered for 45-55 minutes, or until the topping is golden brown.
- Step 9: Serve warm.
Notes
Serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
