Description
Festive and delicious no-bake red, white, and blue Oreo truffles, perfect for patriotic holidays and celebrations.
Ingredients
Scale
1 lb 2.12 oz Family Size package Oreo Cookies
8 ounce block cream cheese, softened to room temperature
12 ounce bag red candy melts
12 ounce bag blue candy melts
⅓ cup Ghirardelli white melting wafers
White star confetti sprinkles for topping
Instructions
- Step 1: Line two baking trays with parchment paper.
- Step 2: Place the Oreo cookies in a food processor or high-speed blender and pulse until they form fine crumbs.
- Step 3: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with a hand mixer on high speed until smooth.
- Step 4: Add the Oreo crumbs to the cream cheese and mix on medium speed until well combined.
- Step 5: Use a 1.5-inch cookie scoop to create even-sized portions, then roll them into smooth balls between your palms. Place the balls on the prepared baking trays.
- Step 6: Chill the trays of Oreo balls in the refrigerator for 2 hours. For a quicker option, freeze them for 15-20 minutes.
- Step 7: Remove one tray of balls from the refrigerator. Melt the blue candy melts in a double boiler or in a microwave-safe bowl, stirring every 30 seconds until smooth.
- Step 8: Dip each ball from the first tray into the melted blue candy using a fork, tapping to remove excess. Place on the baking tray and immediately add white star confetti sprinkles.
- Step 9: Remove the second tray of balls from the refrigerator. Melt the red candy melts using the same method.
- Step 10: Dip each ball from the second tray into the red melts, tapping to remove excess, and place back on the baking tray.
- Step 11: Melt the white wafers in a small piping bag in the microwave in 30-second increments. Snip a small hole in the tip and drizzle white lines over the red-coated balls.
- Step 12: Return all decorated balls to the refrigerator for at least 10 minutes to allow the coating to set completely.
Notes
If you are short on time, you can freeze the balls for 15-20 minutes instead of refrigerating for 2 hours before dipping.
Keep the finished Oreo balls refrigerated until you are ready to eat.
