Description

Chocolate Peanut Butter Bugle Bites are a quick no bake candy made with crunchy Bugles filled with a sweet peanut butter mixture and dipped in smooth chocolate. These bite sized treats are perfect for holiday trays, parties, and homemade gifts. With only a few pantry ingredients and about 20 minutes of prep, this easy recipe delivers the perfect balance of sweet, salty, and crunchy flavor.

Ingredients

Scale

1 package Original Bugles
½ cup unsalted butter, softened
18 ounce jar extra crunchy peanut butter
4 cups confectioners sugar
1 cup chocolate melting wafers

Optional substitute
1 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
½ teaspoon shortening

Instructions

  1. Line two large baking sheets with parchment paper or wax paper and set aside.
  2. Carefully select about four dozen Bugles with large openings and place them aside.
  3. In a medium mixing bowl, beat the peanut butter and softened butter using an electric mixer until smooth.
  4. Gradually add the confectioners sugar while mixing on low speed until combined.
  5. Knead the mixture by hand until fully blended. The mixture will be slightly crumbly but should hold together.
  6. Roll small peanut butter balls about 3 grams each. Gently press each ball into the opening of a Bugle and place the filled Bugles on the prepared baking sheet.
  7. Melt the chocolate wafers in the top of a double boiler over simmering water, stirring until smooth.
  8. Hold each Bugle by the pointed end and dip the filled opening into the melted chocolate, allowing excess chocolate to drip off.
  9. Place the dipped Bugles back on the prepared baking sheet and allow the chocolate to cool completely before serving.

Notes

Choose Bugles with wide openings so the peanut butter mixture fits easily.

If the peanut butter mixture becomes too soft, chill it in the refrigerator for about 10 minutes.

Chocolate chips can be used instead of melting wafers by adding a small amount of shortening to help the chocolate melt smoothly.

Store the finished candies in an airtight container for best freshness.
