Description
A layered dessert with a sweet and salty pretzel crust, a smooth cream cheese filling, and a rich blackberry topping.
Ingredients
Scale
2½ cups crushed pretzels
2 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 cup brown sugar
2 tablespoons flour
½ cup melted butter
8 ounce room temperature cream cheese
1 cup powdered sugar
8 ounce cool whip
21 ounce blackberry pie filling
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 375°F and spray a 9×13 inch baking dish with nonstick cooking spray.
- Step 2: In a medium bowl, mix together the crushed pretzels, vanilla, brown sugar, and flour.
- Step 3: Pour the melted butter into the pretzel mixture and stir until all the ingredients are well combined.
- Step 4: Reserve about a half cup of the pretzel mixture for the topping. Press the rest of the mixture into an even layer in the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Step 5: Bake the crust for 10 to 12 minutes, then remove it from the oven and let it cool completely.
- Step 6: While the crust cools, beat the cream cheese in a medium bowl until it is smooth.
- Step 7: Add the powdered sugar to the cream cheese and beat until combined. Gently fold in the cool whip until the mixture is smooth.
- Step 8: Once the crust has completely cooled, spread the cream cheese mixture evenly over the top.
- Step 9: Spoon the blackberry pie filling over the cream cheese layer and spread it out evenly.
- Step 10: Sprinkle the reserved pretzel mixture over the blackberry layer.
- Step 11: Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
Notes
Ensuring the crust is completely cool before adding the cream cheese layer is crucial to prevent melting and separation.
For a smooth, lump-free filling, make sure the cream cheese is at room temperature before beating.
This dessert needs at least 4 hours to chill and set properly, so plan accordingly.
