¾ cup ( sticks) cold butter, cut into pieces
½ cup chopped pecans
For the Apple Filling:
¾ cup granulated white sugar
2 tablespoons all purpose flour
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon
6 cups peeled and thinly sliced apples
¼ cup heavy whipping cream


Instructions

  1. Step 1: Preheat the oven to 450°F. Line a 9-inch pie plate with the pie crust and flute the edge.
  2. Step 2: Prepare the streusel by combining 1½ cups flour, the brown sugar, salt, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon in a large bowl. Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs, then stir in the pecans.
  3. Step 3: In another large bowl, prepare the filling by stirring together the granulated sugar, 2 tablespoons of flour, and ½ teaspoon cinnamon.
  4. Step 4: Add the sliced apples to the sugar mixture and toss until they are fully coated.
  5. Step 5: Transfer the apple mixture into the pie crust, scraping the bowl to include any juices. Drizzle the heavy cream over the apples.
  6. Step 6: Sprinkle the streusel topping evenly over the filling, patting it down gently to cover the apples.
  7. Step 7: Place the pie on an upper oven rack and a foil-lined baking sheet on the lower rack to catch any drips. Bake for 15 minutes.
