Description
A simple and delicious dump cake featuring layers of apple pie filling, caramel, and a buttery cake topping, ready in under an hour.

2 cans apple pie filling
½ teaspoon ground cinnamon (optional)
1 bag caramel bits
1 box yellow cake mix
1½ sticks butter (cut into thin slices)
Instructions
- Step 1: Preheat your oven to 350 F and grease a 9×13 baking dish with butter or non-stick spray.
- Step 2: Spoon the apple pie filling into the baking dish and spread it evenly across the bottom.
- Step 3: Sprinkle the ground cinnamon over the pie filling, if you are using it.
- Step 4: Pour the bag of caramel bits evenly on top of the apples.
- Step 5: Sprinkle the dry cake mix over the caramel layer and spread it with a spatula to cover the filling completely
- Step 6: Place the thin pats of butter in neat rows over the cake mix.
- Step 7: Bake uncovered for 45 to 50 minutes, or until the top is golden brown and the filling is hot and bubbly.
Notes
The ground cinnamon is an optional ingredient but adds a nice warmth to the dessert.
