Pioneer Woman’s Cheeseburger Pie

  • Author: Lisa
  • Total Time: 30 minutes
  • Yield: 4 servings 1x

Description

This Pioneer Woman-style Cheeseburger Pie is everything you love about a juicy cheeseburger—seasoned beef, gooey cheese, and savory satisfaction—baked into a cozy, golden pie. Quick, hearty, and made with everyday ingredients, it’s a perfect weeknight dinner the whole family will devour.

Ingredients

Scale

1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)

1 pound ground beef

½ teaspoon salt

Ground black pepper, to taste

Garlic powder, to taste (optional)

1 cup grated Cheddar cheese

½ cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)

1 cup whole milk

2 large eggs

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).

  • Grease a 9-inch glass pie plate with vegetable oil or nonstick spray.

  • In a skillet, sauté the onion until soft, about 3 minutes.

  • Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 10 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.

  • Season beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.

  • Spread beef mixture evenly into prepared pie plate.

  • Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.

  • In a medium bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.

  • Pour the batter over the beef and cheese layer.

  • Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.

  • Let it rest a few minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!

Notes

Use any ground meat you like—turkey, chicken, or even veggie crumbles work great.

Swap cheddar for Pepper Jack or Swiss for a flavor twist.

Add pickles, mustard, or even chopped bacon before baking to bring that burger magic to life.

Let it cool slightly before slicing for the cleanest cuts.
