Ingredients
1 large onion, chopped (about 1 cup)
1 pound ground beef
½ teaspoon salt
Ground black pepper, to taste
Garlic powder, to taste (optional)
1 cup grated Cheddar cheese
½ cup Original Bisquick mix (or all-purpose flour)
1 cup whole milk
2 large eggs
Instructions
-
Preheat oven to 400°F (200°C).
-
Grease a 9-inch glass pie plate with vegetable oil or nonstick spray.
-
In a skillet, sauté the onion until soft, about 3 minutes.
-
Add ground beef and cook until browned, about 10 minutes, breaking it apart as it cooks. Drain excess fat.
-
Season beef with salt, pepper, and garlic powder if using.
-
Spread beef mixture evenly into prepared pie plate.
-
Sprinkle cheddar cheese evenly over the beef.
-
In a medium bowl, whisk together Bisquick mix, milk, and eggs until smooth.
-
Pour the batter over the beef and cheese layer.
-
Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a knife inserted in the center comes out clean.
-
Let it rest a few minutes before slicing. Serve and enjoy!
Notes
Use any ground meat you like—turkey, chicken, or even veggie crumbles work great.
Swap cheddar for Pepper Jack or Swiss for a flavor twist.
Add pickles, mustard, or even chopped bacon before baking to bring that burger magic to life.
Let it cool slightly before slicing for the cleanest cuts.
