Description

Pecan Pie Trifle is a quick and delicious no-bake dessert made with just 6 ingredients. Layers of bourbon whipped cream and pecan pie make this the perfect easy treat for holidays or gatherings. Assemble in minutes and chill until ready to serve!

Ingredients

Scale

2 (9-inch) prepared pecan pies (frozen or fresh from the bakery)

3 cups heavy whipping cream

8 ounces mascarpone or whipped cream cheese

1/2 cup powdered sugar

2 to 3 tablespoons bourbon (adjust to taste)

3 teaspoons vanilla extract

Optional toppings: chopped pecans, chocolate shavings

Instructions

  • Prepare the Whipped Cream: In a large mixing bowl, combine the heavy whipping cream, mascarpone (or whipped cream cheese), vanilla extract, bourbon, and powdered sugar. Using a hand mixer, beat the mixture until stiff peaks form. This should take about 3 to 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • Chop the Pecan Pie: Remove the first pecan pie from its tin and cut it into 1 to 2-inch pieces. These chunks will form the base layer of your trifle.
  • Layer the Trifle: In a large glass trifle dish (about 10 inches in diameter), spread the pie chunks evenly across the bottom.
  • Add the Whipped Cream: Spoon half of the bourbon whipped cream over the pie layer and smooth it into an even layer using a spatula.
  • Repeat: Dice the second pecan pie and layer it on top of the whipped cream. Finish with the remaining whipped cream, spreading it out evenly.
  • Top It Off: For an extra decorative and flavorful finish, sprinkle chopped pecans and chocolate shavings over the top layer of whipped cream.
  • Chill and Serve: Cover the dish with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least one hour, or up to three days. The flavors continue to deepen the longer it chills.

Notes

For a kid-friendly version, replace bourbon with maple extract or more vanilla.

Use a clear trifle dish to showcase the layers.

This recipe tastes even better after a day in the fridge.

Mascarpone adds richness, but whipped cream cheese works well too.
