Description
Orange Creamsicle Icebox Pie is a cool, creamy, no bake dessert with bright orange flavor and a smooth vanilla finish. Made with cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, Cool Whip, and a graham cracker crust, this easy pie is perfect for holidays, potlucks, and warm weather gatherings.
Ingredients
1 9 inch graham cracker pie crust
8 ounces cream cheese, softened to room temperature
14 ounces sweetened condensed milk
1 cup Cool Whip
4 tablespoons orange flavored powdered drink mix, such as Tang
1 quarter cup water
Optional garnish:
Whipped cream
Mandarin orange segments
Instructions
Bring the cream cheese to room temperature so it blends smoothly.
In a small bowl, combine the orange flavored powdered drink mix and water. Stir until fully dissolved.
In a food processor, stand mixer, or with a hand mixer, beat the softened cream cheese, sweetened condensed milk, and orange mixture until smooth and creamy.
Gently fold in the Cool Whip with a rubber spatula until well combined.
Spoon the filling into the prepared graham cracker crust and spread it evenly with a spatula.
Refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or until fully chilled and set.
Garnish with whipped cream and mandarin oranges if desired. Slice and serve cold.
Notes
- Soften the cream cheese before mixing for the smoothest filling.
- Make sure the orange drink powder is fully dissolved in the water before adding it to the filling.
- Use a slightly damp knife for cleaner slices.
- If the pie becomes too soft, return it to the refrigerator or freezer for a bit longer.
- For a thicker crust, you can combine extra graham cracker crumbs with melted butter and press them into a 9 inch pie plate.
- This recipe also works well in individual graham cracker tart shells for easy serving.
