Description

6 tablespoons butter, melted

8 oz cream cheese, softened

1 cup powdered sugar

1 teaspoon peppermint extract

Green food coloring (optional)

12 oz tub whipped topping, thawed

2 boxes (3.4 oz each) instant chocolate pudding mix

3 1/4 cups cold milk

1/4 cup crushed mint chocolates (e.g., Andes Mints or Mint M&Ms), for garnish


Instructions

  • Prepare the Crust: Start by crushing the Oreo cookies into fine crumbs using a food processor. Alternatively, put them in a zippered plastic bag and crush them with a rolling pin until finely ground. Combine the crushed cookies with melted butter and stir until the mixture is well blended. Firmly press this mixture into the bottom of a 13×9-inch baking dish to create the crust. Set aside.
  • Make the Mint Cream Cheese Layer: In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and peppermint extract until smooth. Gently fold in one cup of the whipped topping. Add green food coloring to reach your desired shade. Spread this layer evenly over the Oreo crust using a spatula.
  • Prepare the Chocolate Pudding Layer: In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate pudding mixes and cold milk for about two minutes until it thickens. Pour and gently spread the pudding mixture over the mint cream cheese layer.
  • Add the Final Whipped Topping Layer: Distribute the remaining whipped topping evenly across the chocolate pudding layer. Use a spatula to smooth the surface for a polished, clean appearance.
  • Garnish and Chill: Sprinkle crushed mint chocolates on top for an added burst of flavor and decoration. Cover and refrigerate for at least 4 hours before serving to allow the layers to set.

Notes

Chill each layer for 10–15 minutes before adding the next for clean layers.

Homemade whipped cream can be used if stabilized.
