Ingredients
Scale
4 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
2 cups fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
3/4 cup all-purpose flour
1 cup granulated sugar
2 teaspoons baking powder
1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
2/3 cup whole milk
Instructions
- Melt the Butter: Place the butter in a 9×9-inch baking dish. Put the dish in a preheated 350°F oven for 4-6 minutes until the butter melts. Remove and set aside.
- Mix the Batter: In a mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon. Stir in the milk until smooth.
- Assemble the Cobbler: Pour the batter over the melted butter in the dish—do not stir. Layer the peach slices evenly on top of the batter. Pour in any juice from the peaches.
- Bake: Place in the oven and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until the cobbler is golden brown and set in the center.
- Cool & Serve: Allow it to cool for about 15 minutes before serving. It’s especially delightful when served warm with a generous scoop of vanilla ice cream on top.
Notes
Use a glass or ceramic dish for even baking. Keep an eye on the butter while melting to avoid burning. Always include the peach juices for extra flavor.
