Description
Honey Orange Glazed Chicken is a sweet, tangy, and savory recipe that features juicy chicken thighs glazed in a rich orange-honey sauce. It’s easy to prepare, full of bold flavors, and perfect for both busy weeknights and weekend gatherings.
Ingredients
1 cup orange juice
½ cup apple cider vinegar
½ cup light brown sugar (packed)
¼ cup honey
2 tablespoons chili powder
1 tablespoon ground coriander
1 tablespoon ground cumin
2 lbs boneless, skinless chicken thighs
1 tablespoon olive oil
Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
-
Create the glaze: In a small saucepan over medium-high heat, stir together orange juice, apple cider vinegar, light brown sugar, honey, chili powder, ground coriander, and ground cumin. Bring to a gentle boil, then reduce to medium heat and simmer for 35–45 minutes, or until the mixture is reduced to about 1 cup—this concentrates the flavors and thickens the sauce nicely.
-
Cook the chicken: While the glaze reduces, heat olive oil in a medium skillet over medium-high heat. Season chicken thighs with salt and pepper. Sear each side for 3–4 minutes, or until the chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C) and is no longer pink inside.
-
Glaze it up: Pour—or brush—the reduced glaze over the chicken in the skillet. Allow everything to simmer together for 1–2 minutes so each piece is luxuriously coated with the shiny glaze.
-
Plate and serve: Transfer to plates or a serving dish and spoon any remaining glaze over the top.
Notes
Taste the glaze during simmering and adjust sweetness or acidity as needed.
