Ingredients

Scale

Chicken

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch pieces

1/4 cup all-purpose flour

1/2 tsp garlic powder

1/4 tsp cayenne pepper (optional)

1/2 tsp onion powder

1 tsp salt

1/4 tsp ground black pepper

1 tbsp unsalted butter

1 tbsp canola oil (or other light oil)

1 tbsp green onions, sliced (for garnish)

Honey Butter Sauce

5 tbsp unsalted butter, room temperature

1/2 cup honey

1 tbsp soy sauce

1 tbsp apple cider vinegar

1/4 tsp salt

1/8 tsp ground black pepper

Instructions

  1. Dredge the Chicken
In a bowl, mix flour, garlic powder, cayenne, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Coat the chicken evenly by mixing it thoroughly with the seasoned flour.
  2. Cook the Chicken
In a skillet over medium heat, melt butter with oil. Add chicken in a single layer, shaking off excess flour. Sear 2-3 minutes per side until golden and cooked through. Remove and set aside.
  3. Make the Sauce
Lower the heat. Add the remaining butter to the same skillet. Once melted, stir in honey, soy sauce, apple cider vinegar, salt, and pepper. Simmer and stir until thickened.
  4. Combine and Serve
Add the cooked chicken back into the skillet. Toss to coat in sauce. Cook for 1-2 minutes more. Let sit 5 minutes. Garnish with green onions and serve hot.

Notes

Cook chicken in batches for extra crispiness.

Add red pepper flakes for extra heat.

Use a thermometer to ensure chicken reaches 165°F (74°C).

If sauce gets too thick, stir in a splash of water.

Serve with white rice and green beans for a complete meal.
