Apple Pie French Toast Roll Ups are a warm, spiced breakfast twist on a classic dessert. Packed with sweet apples and cinnamon, they’re perfect for cozy mornings or a special brunch. Try them now and elevate your breakfast!

Ingredients

Scale

1 cup finely diced apples (peeled)

2 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp ground cinnamon

1/8 tsp ground nutmeg

1 tsp cornstarch

1/4 cup water

6 slices sandwich bread (crusts removed)

1 large egg

1/4 cup milk

1 tbsp brown sugar

1/2 tsp vanilla extract

2 tbsp unsalted butter

Caramel syrup (for dipping)

Instructions

  1. Make the Apple Filling: In a small saucepan, combine diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, nutmeg, cornstarch, and water. Stir thoroughly and heat until the mixture begins to simmer over medium heat. Let it cook for around 10 minutes until the apples soften and the sauce thickens. Let cool slightly.
  2. Prepare the Bread: Trim the crusts from each slice of bread, then use a rolling pin to gently flatten them out.
  3. Add Filling: Spoon a small amount of apple filling onto one end of each bread slice and roll tightly.
  4. Mix Egg Coating: In a shallow bowl, whisk together egg, milk, brown sugar, and vanilla extract.
  5. Dip and Cook: Dip each roll into the egg mixture, ensuring it is fully coated.
  6. Pan Fry: In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Place roll ups seam side down and cook, turning to brown all sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  7. Serve: Plate warm roll ups and serve with a side of caramel syrup for dipping.

Notes

Use slightly stale bread for easier rolling. Don’t overfill to prevent leakage. For extra flavor, add a splash of apple cider to the filling.
