Ingredients

Scale

For the Chicken Skewers:

1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes

Bamboo skewers, soaked in water for 30 minutes

For the Honey Garlic Sauce:

¼ cup unsalted butter

4 garlic cloves, minced

½ cup honey

¼ cup apple cider vinegar

¼ cup soy sauce

¼ cup brown sugar

2 tablespoons cornstarch

¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Get Ready to Cook
Preheat your grill to medium-high or set your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Assemble the Skewers
Thread chicken pieces onto soaked skewers, spacing them slightly apart.
  3. Prepare the Glaze
Melt the butter in a saucepan over medium heat and sauté garlic for 1 minute. Stir in honey, vinegar, soy sauce, and sugar. Simmer gently. Mix cornstarch with water in a small bowl, then stir it into the sauce. Cook until thickened, then set aside.
  4. Grill or Bake the Chicken
    • Grill: Cook skewers 5–7 minutes per side. Brush with glaze during the final minutes.
    • Oven: Bake skewers for 20 minutes. Broil the skewers for 2–3 minutes, brushing with sauce until they become caramelized.
  5. Serve and Enjoy
Let skewers rest for a few minutes. Serve with extra glaze on the side.

Notes

Marinate chicken in half the sauce for 1–2 hours for extra flavor.

Add veggies like bell peppers or onions between chicken pieces.

For a gluten-free version, use tamari or coconut aminos.

Metal skewers work great and don’t need soaking.
