Ingredients

Scale

16.5 oz chocolate chip cookie dough (store-bought or homemade)

8 oz cream cheese (softened)

1 cup powdered sugar

12 oz Cool Whip (thawed)

3 cups cold milk

3.9 oz instant chocolate pudding mix

3.9 oz instant vanilla pudding mix

2 cups chocolate chips (optional or additional toppings)

Instructions

1. Prepare the Cookie Crust

Start by allowing the cookie dough to sit at room temperature for about 10 to 15 minutes so it becomes easy to work with. Once softened, open the tube and press the dough evenly into a greased 9×13 baking pan. Use your fingers or the back of a spoon to get a uniform layer ready for baking.

2. Bake the Base

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake the cookie dough layer for about 14 to 16 minutes, or until it turns a lovely golden brown around the edges. Once done, remove it from the oven and let it cool completely. Cooling is essential so that the creamy layers don’t melt when added on top.

3. Create the Creamy Middle Layer

In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese and powdered sugar. Use a mixer to beat until smooth and fluffy. Gently fold in 1½ cups of the Cool Whip, blending until fully combined and creamy.

4. Spread the Cream Cheese Layer

Once the cookie layer is completely cool, evenly spread the cream cheese mixture on top. Use a spatula to smooth it out, covering every inch of the cookie layer. This rich layer sets the foundation for the pudding.

5. Make the Pudding Layer

In a separate large bowl, whisk together the cold milk with both the instant chocolate and vanilla pudding mixes. Beat for about 2 minutes or until the mixture thickens to a smooth, pudding‑like consistency. The combined flavors give this dessert its signature creamy center.

6. Add the Pudding Layer

Carefully spread the pudding mixture over the cream cheese layer. Take your time and use a clean spatula to ensure the layer is even and smooth.

7. Top With Cool Whip and Chocolate Chips

Spread the remaining Cool Whip over the pudding layer. Add 2 cups of chocolate chips or as much as you desire for topping. Feel free to sprinkle extra goodies like mini candies, cookie crumbs, or nuts if you prefer.

8. Chill Time

Refrigerate the dessert for at least 8 hours, or overnight for best results. This chilling time allows the layers to set and the flavors to meld beautifully. Keep refrigerated when not serving to maintain texture and freshness.

Notes

Use whole or 2% milk for the creamiest pudding texture.

Let crust cool fully before adding layers to prevent melting.

Customize with crushed peppermint, berries, or chopped nuts.

Great make-ahead dessert for busy days or events.

Store in the fridge up to 5 days or freeze for up to 3 months.
