Description
Cherry Ice Cream Pie is a creamy no bake dessert made with cherry filling, whipped cream, and a rich chocolate crust. It is easy to prepare, refreshing, and perfect for summer gatherings or make ahead treats.
Ingredients
2 cups cold heavy whipping cream
1 (20-ounce) can cherry pie filling
Hot fudge topping, whipped cream, cherries for garnish
2 recipes Oreo pie crust
1 (14-ounce) can sweetened condensed milk
1 tbsp vanilla extract
Instructions
- In a stand mixer fitted with a whisk attachment, beat the whipping cream until stiff peaks form. Set aside.
- In a medium bowl, add the cherry pie filling and gently crush it using a potato masher to slightly break up the fruit. Stir in the sweetened condensed milk and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Carefully fold the cherry mixture into the whipped cream, mixing gently until fully incorporated and smooth.
- Divide the filling evenly between the two pie crusts and smooth the tops. Cover tightly with plastic wrap and freeze for at least 4 hours, or until firm.
- Before serving, drizzle with chocolate sauce or hot fudge and garnish with whipped cream and cherries.
Notes
This recipe yields two pies. Alternatively, you can fill one pie crust and freeze the remaining filling in an airtight container to enjoy as cherry ice cream.
For a quicker option, substitute the whipped cream with two 8 ounce containers of whipped topping.
Feel free to use any type of pie crust you prefer.
You can also switch the cherry pie filling with any other flavor to create a different variation of this dessert.
