Description

Cheeseburger rollups are a delicious twist on traditional cheeseburgers. Featuring seasoned ground beef, cheddar cheese, and pizza dough rolled and baked to perfection, this family-friendly recipe is great for dinner, parties, or snacks.

Ingredients

Scale

1 lb lean ground beef (90/10 blend recommended)

½ cup red onion, diced

1 tsp garlic, minced

1 (10 oz) can diced tomatoes, drained

1 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

1 Tbsp Dijon mustard

½ tsp salt

½ tsp black pepper

1 batch pizza dough (homemade or store-bought)

1 ½ cups shredded cheddar cheese (or American cheese pieces)

½ Tbsp olive oil

½ tsp Italian seasoning

1 tsp sesame seeds

Instructions

  • Cook the Beef Filling:
In a large skillet, add the ground beef, diced onions, and minced garlic. Cook over medium-high heat, stirring occasionally, until the beef is fully cooked and no longer pink.

  • Season the Mixture:
Stir in the drained diced tomatoes, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, salt, and black pepper. Continue cooking until all liquid has evaporated. If necessary, drain any excess before removing from heat. Set aside.

  • Prepare the Dough:
Preheat your oven to 400°F. Line a sheet pan with parchment paper and lightly spray with nonstick cooking spray. Roll the pizza dough on a floured surface into a 16” x 8” rectangle.

  • Assemble the Roll:
Spread the beef mixture evenly across the dough, leaving a ½-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese on top of the meat mixture.

  • Roll It Up:
Starting on the long edge, carefully roll the dough into a tight log. Place seam-side down on the prepared baking sheet.

  • Add Toppings:
Brush the top of the roll with olive oil, then sprinkle with Italian seasonings and sesame seeds for extra flavor and crunch.

  • Bake to Perfection:
Bake for 28–30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown. Remove from oven, let cool slightly, then slice into even portions and serve warm.

Notes

Drain tomatoes well to prevent sogginess.

Let beef mixture cool slightly before spreading on dough.

For variety, use different cheeses or add veggies like peppers or mushrooms.
