Description
Buckeye Brownies combine a chewy fudge brownie base with a sweet peanut butter layer and smooth chocolate topping. This layered dessert is easy to make and full of rich, crowd-pleasing flavors.
Ingredients
1 package fudge brownie mix (13×9-inch pan size)
½ cup butter + 6 tablespoons butter, divided
1 cup creamy peanut butter
2 cups confectioners’ sugar
6 ounces semisweet or dark chocolate chips
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven and grease a 13×9‑inch baking pan (or line it for easier removal).
 -
Prepare the brownie mix according to the package directions, pour into the greased baking pan, bake until done, then allow it to cool completely.
 -
While the brownies cool, prepare the peanut butter layer: in a large microwave‑safe bowl, melt the ½ cup butter together with the 1 cup creamy peanut butter (30‑60 seconds on high, stirring once the butter is melted). Then stir in the 2 cups confectioners’ sugar until smooth. Evenly layer the mixture on top of the cooled brownies.
 -
Next, make the chocolate topping: in another large microwave‑safe bowl, melt the remaining 6 tablespoons butter with the 6 ounces chocolate chips. Microwave in 30‑second increments, stirring between each interval until the mixture is fully melted and smooth. Spread this over the peanut butter layer.
 -
Let the brownies cool (you may refrigerate them to set faster) until the topping is firm, then cut into squares and serve.
