Beef and Cheese Sliders

Beef and Cheese Sliders

  • Author: lisa
  • Total Time: 35 minutes (plus optional chill)
  • Yield: 12 sliders 1x

Description

These Beef and Cheese Sliders are a simple yet delicious combination of deli beef, melty Swiss cheese, and sweet Hawaiian rolls, all topped with a rich seasoned butter and baked until golden. Perfect for parties, potlucks, and quick family meals.

Ingredients

Scale

1 (12-count) package Hawaiian sweet rolls

½ cup unsalted butter, divided

3 teaspoons honey

1 lb thinly sliced deli beef

8 oz Swiss cheese slices

1 teaspoon poppy seeds

1 teaspoon sesame seeds

¾ teaspoon dried onion flakes

¾ teaspoon dried garlic flakes

½ teaspoon coarse sea salt

2 teaspoons Dijon mustard

1½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce

Instructions

  • With a sharp knife, slice the sweet rolls in half horizontally—keeping them together or separating them by preference.

  • Place the roll bottoms in a well-sized (9×13-inch) baking dish, lightly coated with non-stick spray.

  • In a small bowl, melt 3 tablespoons of unsalted butter, mix in the honey, and generously brush the sweet honey-butter mixture over the bottom layer of rolls.

  • Arrange half of the beef slices evenly over the rolls, layer with Swiss cheese, and finish by adding the remaining beef.

  • In another small bowl, melt the remaining 5 tablespoons of butter. Stir in poppy seeds, sesame seeds, garlic flakes, onion flakes, salt, Dijon mustard, and Worcestershire sauce.

  • Pour this rich, savory butter mixture over the assembled sliders. Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour—or up to 24 hours—for best flavor absorption (though you can bake immediately if short on time).

  • Preheat your oven to 350 °F (175 °C). Bake covered for 15 minutes, then uncover and bake an additional 10 minutes—until slider tops are golden and cheese is melted.

  • Slice the sliders apart (if needed) and serve them warm and gooey.

Notes

You can skip the chill time if needed and bake immediately.

Substitute Swiss with provolone, cheddar, or mozzarella.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
